Digital Panoramic Radiography
The Panoramic radiograph (Orthopantomogram) is the most common dental imaging exam, as it captures all bones and teeth of the upper and lower jaw in a single 2D image.
The procedure requires no preparation, is performed standing, and the scan lasts approximately 13 seconds. The radiation dose is considered negligible.
Core Applications:
- Anatomical anomalies or lesions in the jaws.
- Localization of impacted wisdom teeth.
- Implant localization and bone assessment.
- Fillings and restorations.
- Evaluation of caries or periodontal diseases.
- Supernumerary (extra) teeth.
- Assessment of dental age in children.
Panoramic scans can be supplemented by periapical radiographs for even greater detail where necessary.
